You can use Canvs to track all new or live TV airings across networks and compare how much more Loved, Funny, or Exciting your network is compared to competitors. Using our Explore tool, you can quickly create a competitive set of networks to benchmark emotional performance.

This allows Ad Sales Researchers to tell powerful sales enablement stories that demonstrate how audiences are more emotionally engaged versus competitors. Insights such as "we are the most exciting Primetime Broadcast network" or "our Thursday night programming is the craziest on cable" are easily created using Canvs' Explore.

Case Study

In this case, we can see that NBC ranks the highest among all non-Sports Primetime programming that aired on weekdays among Broadcast networks. It is also 4.8 times more Loved than the average among this competitive set.

Step-By-Step Guide

First, Click on Explore.

Canvs' flexible filters allow you to create customized competitive sets to see where you rank. Click Modify to access the Filters.

You can limit your search to include only relevant programming from certain Dayparts (for example, Primetime) and days of the week. In the example below, we would like to compare weekday Primetime programming across Broadcast networks.

You can exclude specific Airing Types, such as Sports-related programming, to get more specific results.

You can decide which Emotions and Driver Categories you want to consider in your analysis by updating the Metrics section. You can also adjust the dates the using the date selector. 

Please note: In the Canvs dashboard, you are limited to selecting 6 emotional metrics at a time. However, Explore's exports will provide you with all of Canvs' 42 emotions, as well as all other metrics.

Turn Benchmarks on to view the metrics as an over/under index against ranker averages. 

You can see how your Networks, Programs, Airings, and Drivers measure up against the compeition based on the filters selected.
